Howard Stern Show Pokes Fun of Me Again!

It seems like every few months I hear from listeners of "The Howard Stern Show" about how they heard the interview I did a while back in which I was the brunt of their jokes, as I blogged about first here and then again here.

At this point, I've lost track of the number of times people -- mostly cool guys -- have written to me after the segment aired -- it must have run easily three, four, five (?) times. It's all very amusing.

Anyhow, I just received a wonderful e-mail from John, a Howard Stern fan in British Columbia, Canada. Here's what he wrote:

"Hi Connie,

Just wanted you to know that we think that you must have a really great sense of humour to allow the Howard Stern Show to air the "interview" you had with High Pitch Eric posing as a sugared-up little girl.

You may have heard this from other Howard fans, but we found you and are spending time exploring your site, solely because we love Howard and by extension, anyone who has enough of a sense of humour to laugh, even at themselves.

Thanks for one of the one of the most classic laughs ever. We just heard it again this morning and were inspired to visit your site.

Wishing you continued success in your admirable work."

What a sweet e-mail! Any other Howard Stern fans just hear the interview again?

FYI, the reason I was so ideal to is that it's been years since I listened to Howard Stern (I was a fan while living in L.A. and trapped in traffic a lot) and I didn't know that High Pitch Eric is just a fun, wacko character. See, for instance, his MySpace profile (if it's to be believed?)

Howard Stern Show Airs My Interview Again In Which I Hung Up On the Show!

I'm amused. It seems like every few months, entertained fans(mostly guys) of the Howard Stern Show write to tell me that they just heard me on the show.

Interesting. Apparently, I've been getting people laughing so much that the Howard Stern Show keeps re-running an interview I unknowingly gave to the show in back in October 2007.

As I've laughed about on this blog several times, I flat out hung up mid-interview, as I explained here, and then then later here.

Yes, you got that right. I abruptly ended an interview, ending a phone call (politely, I think) with the Howard Stern Show!

Only I didn't know I was being interviewed for the Howard Stern Show. NO one told me, as you can learn here. (And it's been some six years since I listened to the show, when I lived in L.A. and sat in my car a lot.)

Anyhow, I'm taking it all in good humor, even if I'm repeatedly the butt of ridicule and laughter. FYI, here are two comments I just received:

Here's Allen from Maryland: 

"Just heard an amusing "interview" with you on the Howard Stern Show. Not only do you dispense good informaiton <CQ> but you're a good sport as well."

Surprised that it aired yet again -- this must be at least the third or fourth time, guys have written to me -- I wrote back to Allen to find out more. He further explained in a follow-up e-mail:

"I heard it on Friday morning and couldn't stop laughing. Hi Pitch Eric is the one that they use for phony phone calls a lot on the show." 

Meanwhile, Michael from Washington, D.C., also contacted me:

"Loved you on the Jack and Rod Show!!!"

He also wrote back with more information, when I asked:

"It was funny. You seemed to take the joke well. I think they aired it] yesterday [Wed., Aug. 13]... It was when the show started...they play some 'bits' before Howard goes on air."

Thanks, guys, for keeping me in the loop. Fans of the Howard Stern Show, keep writing to let me know when the piece re-airs again.

I was just interviewed by naturopathic doctor, chemist, registered nutrition consultant and MIT-trained scientist Raymond Francis, DSc, MSc, RNC for his "Beyond Health" Radio Show. on KNTS 1220 AM in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Listen To Hot Radio Show: Dr. Stanley Mirsky, Dr. Marc Siegel And I Hit the "Joey Reynolds Show"

Tomorrow, Tuesday night (November 6) -- or perhaps early Wednesday morning, at midnight -- about 9 million listeners at some 100 stations around the country will get to listen to a very intriguing health-related segment on the Joey Reynolds Show.

The popular Joey Reynolds (to your left) -- who hosts the #1 late-night radio talk show in New York -- will present a 60-minute segment on WOR-AM/WOR Radio Network with two renowned physicians and me.

I'll be interviewed along with the acclaimed Stanley Mirsky, M.D. and Marc K. Siegel, M.D.

This should be an absolutely fascinating program! Just learn some of the many impressive credentials of these two physicians.

Dr. Stanley Mirsky is a leading diabetes expert or "diabetologist," as well as a practicing internist and associate clinical professor of medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

What's more, he's past president of the American Diabetes Association of New York State and a board member of the Joslin Diabetes Center.

In addition, Dr. Mirsky was named Endocrinologist of the Year for 2005 by the Mount Sinai School of Medicine.

As the Joslin Center website points out, Dr. Mirsky "not only teaches his patients and residents Joslin’s credo that good blood glucose control equals good outcomes, [but] he has written four books based on this premise..."

For instance, Dr. Mirsky has authored the popular Controlling Diabetes the Easy Way and his latest, Diabetes Survival Guide: Understanding the Facts About Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention."

Meanwhile, Marc K. Siegel, M.D. is a practicing internist, an associate professor at the New York University School of Medicine and a fellow in the Master Scholars Society at New York University.

In addition, Dr. Siegel is a prolific writer. He is the author of False Alarm; the Truth About the Epidemic of Fear (top  20 books of 2005 - Discover Magazine) and Bird Flu: Everything You Need to Know About the Next Pandemic.

He is a sought-after speaker and frequent TV and radio guest -- for instance, he appears regularly on CNN, The Today Show and the Fox News Channel.

Dr. Siegel also was a contributor to the U.S. Senate Finance committee investigation of the 2001 bioterror crisis.

What's more, he's penned many articles over the years, including these recent ones. (I especially like this piece, "Who's in Charge: It's Your Care. Take Control of It, Recommends One Physician," which ran in the Washington Post.

Dr. Siegel also writes a column, "Unreal World," for The Los Angeles Times, and he is a frequent contributor to the Washington Post, USA Today, Slate and many other publications. His articles are syndicated through Tribune Media Services.

Spread the word to your friends about our appearance on the Joey Reynolds Show, which airs Tuesday through Saturday from 12 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. EST in the New York City tri-state area and is syndicated nationally to more than 100 stations, with an estimated reach of 9 million listeners.

Joey is also author of the entertaining book, Let a Smile Be Your Umbrella...But Don't Get a Mouthful of Rain: The Joey Reynolds Story.

Halloween Hangover Effect -- Helpful Info Reaches Folks

Sugar's effects are on people's minds these days, given the Halloween hangover effect.

Halloween Fun: Listen to One of Two Chats With Radio Host Frankie Boyer

Today, the amiable, talented radio host Frankie Boyer -- who hosts the acclaimed "Frankie Boyer Show" on WBIX Business 1060 in the Boston area -- chatted with me about how to help children have a happy, healthy Halloween. Her show is also heard on www.crni.net, Channel 6.

FYI, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Frankie back in July -- also interviewed me for her other show on Lifestyle Talk Radio Network, where the segment is archived. Make sure to click on the first hour on Oct. 29. You can listen at any time.

For the next three days, I'm giving more tips to have a happy but healthy Halloween. For instance, I just appeared on "Tron Talk" for KCMN-AM, which broadcasts to Colorado Springs and southern Colorado. Host Tron Simpson was a really fun, energetic host, who really cares about his listeners and wants to help them. Of course, all radio hosts do, right?

Howard Stern Show Poked Fun of Me & I Laughed All the While: Thanks, Guys, For Your Support!

Remember, I told you last week how I hung up on the Howard Stern Show without knowing it?

Well, they aired the segment in which I'm laughing, giggling and getting all awkward and embarrassed but trying to get the point across that sugar can turn your kids into "Sugar Brats."

Now, I want to thank you, all you guys, and one woman, for writing me!

It was nice to hear from so many of you. Phew! I guess, gauging from your remarks, I didn't make a complete fool of myself after all!

As far as I'm concerned, I'm happy to bring an element of fun and levity to the subject of sugar.

SUGAR SHOCK! Talk Reaches Utah and Michigan Today

Today, I'm doing two radio interviews. First, I'm being interviewed for Grapevine Radio's show, "Healthy, Wealthy Wow" out of Salt Lake City (from 2:10 to 2:30 pm EST). I'll be interviewed by host Kim Powers Stilson.

Kim is not only a radio host, but she's also a positioning and marketing strategist, writer and long-time PR positioning and marketing authority. I'm intrigued by the fact that she and her husband have three children and three dogs and that she enjoys yoga, Irish history, gardening and is a certified feng shui practitioner.

"Healthy Wealthy Wow" is a daily online-only radio program that airs Mondays through Fridays from 12-1:00 p.m. MST on the Grapevine Radio Network. The show reviews health products and books, and features interviews with health experts.

Meanwhile, early this evening from 6:10 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. EST, I'll be interviewed on WILS 1320 AM's "Ebling and You" show out of Lansing, Michigan.

The host is Jack Ebling, a former Lansing State Journal sportswriter, who now hosts the show, "Ebling and You," offering, as the description says, "a heady mix of news, sports and entertainment."

SUGAR SHOCK! Hits Missouri: KIRX-AM Radio's Dustin Page Interviews Me

Healthy Halloween? My Tips on KBUR-AM

You'll have lots of chances to get some helpful sugar info and tips this week and next as I'll be doing lots of radio and TV.

For instance, I just joined Rod Cary on KUBR-AM in Burlington, Iowa on "The Morning Show."

It was a lot of fun. Of course, I always enjoy giving interviews and spreading the sour scoop about sugar and how to break free!

Good Parenting: Catch My Interview on 50 Radio Stations Nationwide

Catch me next Sunday, Oct. 28, on the second half of "Good Parenting" for a pre-Halloween interview.

Earlier this morning, "Good Parenting" host and parent Matt Bubala interviewed me, and we had a really fun talk that will be aired on 50 radio stations nationwide.

For instance, the segment will air in Dallas (KMNY at 6 a.m.); Detroit (CKLW at 2 p.m.); Wilmington, North Carolina (WLTT and WWTB at 7 a.m.); Los Angeles (KUTY at 4 a.m.); Jackson, Tennessee (WNWS at 6 am); and the Boston area (WNSH at 7 a.m.). 

Good Parenting is a national, one-hour weekday show that focuses on family, parenting and related issues.  It is broadcast to more than 50 national AM and FM affiliates via Radio America, which is a division of the American Studies Center.
