Mark Wahlberg's 4 1/2-Year-Old Daughter: "No More [Sugar]" For The Sugar Shocked Tot

Mark_wahlberg_and_rhea_durham_28126Guess Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Durham learned the hard way that giving a child a couple of pieces of cake -- no matter how small -- can transform a sweet, amiable tot into a Little Sugar Monster intent on mayhem and temper tantrums.

So now, reportedly sugar and cake will be banned from the couple's home, Wahlberg said recently on Late Night With Conan O'Brien.

Wahlberg's four-and-a-half-year-old daughter Ella Rae went on what can best be described as a sugar rampage after the actor (who admits to being "wrapped around her finger") gave her a small slice before dinner.

But, after a "good dinner," the child wanted yet another piece.

Wahlberg reportedly told Conan: "I was like, `You haven't had your bath yet, there's two hours left for you to go crazy.' I cut the tiniest little sliver of cake. Five minutes later, she's screaming, she's got her [2-year-old] brother [Michael] in a headlock ... so I said, "That's it! No more [sugar]."

Parents, take note: Sugar can do a number on your kids, no matter what the contradictory research says.

Moral of the incident: Don't let your little ones cajole and convince you to give them sweets. Otherwise, good luck handling them!

Besides, giving them sugary foods now just sets them up for sugar addiction later. And, of course, obesity may be a risk, too.

Incidentally, the couple, who are expecting their third child in September, will finally get hitched; Wahlberg recently referred to long-time-fiance Durham as his couple "future wife."

Thanks to the Celebrity Baby Blog for a lead on this sugary item.
